| Silver Alpaca Top Alpacas are domesticated animals of the South American Andes. Their fiber is stronger than most wools and has a soft silky touch. Due to its strength, garments made from alpaca wear well. Staple lengths range from 8-18 inches. For a lofty yarn hold your fiber loosely and add just enough twist to keep the fiber together. Too much twist and your yarn will become wiry.

| Mohair Top Mohair is the shorn fleece of the Angora goat. Although natives of the Ankara Province of Turkey, angora goats were exported to Australia, America and the Cape Province of South Africa during the middle of the 19th century. Today most domestic mohair comes from Texas. The first clippings produce the finest fiber. As the goat matures its hair becomes progressively coarser. Mohair is very strong and lustrous–perfect for rainbow dyeing.

| Camel Down Sliver A camel's coat has two layers, a downy under layer and an outer layer of course guard hairs. The guard hairs are separated from the down which is then made into sliver for spinning. Camel down has a soft, fine texture comparable to merino wool.

| Cashgora Top Cashgora goats are a crossbreed of Cashmere and Angora goats. In genereal, their fleece is finer than mohair but coarser than cashmere. However, some of the undercoat fibers are fine enough to be considered cashmere. During processing the guard hairs are removed.

| Super Grade White Angora Top Angora is one of the lightest and finest fibers available. Angora rabbits, like angora goats, were first domesticated in the Ankara province of Turkey. They were exported to France and Belgium where they were bred to supply the textile industry during the 19th century. When spinning be sure to hold the fibers loosely and do not over spin the fiber. A limited amount of twist will keep your yarn fluffy.

| Tencel Fiber Tencel is a man-made cellulosic fiber derived from wood pulp. This natural fiber is breathable, absorbent and fully biodegradable. Known for its strength, Tencel fiber produces strong, high quality yarns and fabric. Yarns spun from Tencel are soft and lustrous. Spin it alone or try blending it with other fibers. Another benefit is fabrics made from Tencel can be machine washed and dried. Tencel also takes dye extremely well. Our Procion cold water fiber reactive dyes are perfect. | Viscose Rayon Top The soft smooth fibers of rayon spin into a lustrous yarn. Although silk like in appearance, rayon is a cellulose fiber similar to cotton. Its soft hand makes it a pleasure to spin alone or in combination to lend other fibers a beautiful sheen. Rayon dyes well.
