Lopi is one of America's favorite yarns. This is the traditional Icelandic style single ply yarn used in circular knit yolked sweaters. The traditional natural shades still exist, but many contemporary colors now round out the color line. Knitters can follow any Lopi or other bulky weight pattern. Weavers will find Lopi suitable for weft, but not warp since it is too loosely spun. Try weaving Lopi in blankets, jackets, shawl, and wall hangings. As a project idea to combine texture with color and weave effects, try a twill threading with Harrisville Highland, Bartlett worsted, or Peace Fleece at 6-10 ends per inch. Use a 1 up 3 down tie-up so the Lopi will sit on the surface and show off. Weave 1-3 tabby shots between Lopi wefts to create a firm backing. You can also let the color range inspire tapestries, but we don't recommend Lopi for rugs since it is too soft.
Care - Hand Wash cool water or dry clean
