As spring arrives this bright and breezy issue of Knit Simple is right on point!
Cheryl Murray’s Breton Stripe Pullover is the perfect nautical top. Knit it in a DK Cotton or other breathable blend so it’s easy to wear and easy to care for! You can easily adjust the fit by changing where you sew the side seams.
Sizes: 36 (38, 40, 42.5, 45, 49)” bust.
Gauge: 20 sts and 28 rows to 4″ in St st using US #6 needles (or size to obtain gauge).
Yarn: DK weight yarn such as Cascade Ultra Pima Cotton Yarn, Jo Sharp Soho Summer DK Cotton Yarn, or Cotton Fleece Yarn.
Color A (main color): approximately 1,050 – 1,575 yards
Color B (stripe): 525 – 785 yards

The Playful Pinwheels Blanket, also by Cheryl Murray, is a great “TV knitting” or travel project – it’s easy to work in repeating squares so once you’ve got the basic design you don’t need to think too hard. Machine washable and cozy in any season, there are a couple of “swirl” variations to choose from. Plus, it’s portable since the squares are seamed together afterwards – so there’s no need to lug a big project with you to the beach or in the car!
Size: 57″ by 66″ blocked.
Gauge: 18 sts and 26 rows to 4″ in St st using US #8 needles.
