About: Casco Bay Sport

The soft, subtle texture and mellow colors of our Casco Bay Sport and Worsted Cottons will be a welcomed addition to any weaver's or knitter's palette. And it's washable, making it ideal for easy care children's sweaters and baby blankets. The tiny criss-cross binder gives just a hint of elasticity so welcome in knitting and crocheting with cotton. Weaving Yarn Tip can use Casco Bay Cottons alone in warp and weft or in combination with many of our other fine yarns. Consider it as pattern weft in overshot or summer and winter patterns. It's also an interesting weft for warp-face weaves. Due to its soft construction, items made with these yarns will fill out nicely after gentle machine washing and drying. Care - When working with bold or highly contrasting colors we suggest testing for color fastness. It is not uncommon for excess dye to be a problem in strong colors. If bleeding occurs, skein the yarn, wash it until the water runs clear and let it hang dry.
