All Leclerc looms and accessories are guaranteed for one year, covering materials and workmanship. The majority of wooden parts are select, well-seasoned, kiln dried Canadian maple. Metal parts are aluminum dye cast, cast iron, or steel protected with zinc plating. Heddle support bars are now stainless steel. All looms are shipped partially assembled with instructions and assembly equipment. All floor looms have easy to use and long lasting nylon tie-up cords, non-sliding polyvinyl pads on the uprights, a plain warp beam that can be converted to a sectional warp beam by adding rake-like pieces, and 2 treadles more than the number of harnesses. Since Leclerc changed ownership in the 1990s, they have made many innovative improvements to their products. Leclerc looms come in 4 different styles - counterbalance, jack-type, countermarch, and the new jack-type with back hinge treadles.

Leclerc Compact 24" This is a light weight, easily movable and foldable, X-shaped, jack-type floor loom that is convenient for workshops and demonstrations. It easily folds with or without a warp and comes with 4 or 8 shafts. Owners of 4 shaft Compacts can add the additional 4 harnesses and 4 treadles. The loom comes with reed, 10.5" wire heddles (insert eye heddles available for extra charge), boat shuttle, reed and heddle hook, 2 lease sticks, 2 warp rods, and instructions. Leclerc Artisat 36" Jack-Type This jack-type loom is ideal for space limited weavers who are looking for a little extra width. It offers 36" of leaving width on a fairly solid, but lightweight loom, that folds to 14" deep (for 4 shaft). This loom is available with 4 shafts, 8 shafts, and back hinged treadle 8 shafts. The new back hinged treadles allow for a much better shed and easier treadling on 6+ shaft projects. Leclerc Nilus This is a popular low castle jack loom with the option of 4 shaft, 8 shaft, or 8 shaft with back hinge treadles. It is available in 27", 36", 45", or 60" weaving widths. It has removable front and back beams and a friction brake. Discontinued in the 1980s with the development of the Nilus II, the Nilus was reintroduced in 1998 due to popular demand. This loom is more compact than the Nilus II Larger people or those with long legs may prefer the extra size of the Nilus II, but other weavers shouldn't be affected. Standard accessories are a reed, wire heddles, boat shuttle, reed and heddle hook, 2 lease sticks, 4 warp rods, and instructions. Leclerc Nilus II This loom was originally designed to replace the Nilus. The Nilus II uses 12.5" heddles that provide a wider shed than the 10.5" heddles used on the Nilus. It is also deeper, which provides easier treadling with high tension warps. Due to this increase in depth and the addition of stabilizer foot, this loom takes up more floor space than the Nilus. The stabilizer foot in the back makes it a sturdier loom than the Nilus. Weaving widths of 36", 45", and 60" in 4 shaft (jack or counter balanced) or 8 shaft (jack with or without backhinged treadles) are available. These looms come with reed, wire heddles, boat shuttle, plastic bobbins, reed and heddle hook, lease sticks, warp rods, and instructions. Additional options - insert eye heddles, bench, sectional warp beam, double warp beam, flying shuttle beater, kits to convert 4 shaft to 8 shaft, and kits to convert one style loom to another. Leclerc Nilus II Countermarche The countermarche system has only one set of lams, two sets of pulleys above the shafts, and one set of pulleys below. In a countermarche loom, every shaft is actively involved in each shed: each shaft is either lifted or pulled down by each pedal. Uneven sheds like 3 shafts against 1 are always large and clean. Because you actually lift or pull down every shaft, you never have any problems with one shaft floating when it should not. Treadles are back hinged. |

Leclerc Mira II A counter-balanced 4 shaft loom, with a sturdy, rigid frame, that makes it especially useful for teaching, commercial production studio or rug weaving. You can speed-up production by adding the flying shuttle beater. This loom is as close as you can get to a barn loom. The new Mira II model looms incorporate Leclerc's exclusive shed regulator. This unique mechanism provides a quick simple switch from balanced to unbalanced weaves with a minimum of adjustment. This provides the same versatility as a Jack Loom but with the advantage of full control over top and bottom Shed openings offered by the Counterbalance design. Leclerc Colonial I For a more traditional-styled overhead castle loom with many modern improvements, Leclerc offers the Colonial. Made of the finest Canadian maple with a clear lacquer/varnish finish, it is beautiful, plus very adaptable and functional. The loom comes as a 45" or 60" weaving width, 4 shaft, jack-type loom, but you may add one or two sets of 4 shafts to make your Colonial I an 8 or 12 shaft loom. This loom is foldable even when warped. An overhead beater is optional. A computer dobby may be attached to control up to the 12 shafts. This loom comes with reed, wire heddles, boat shuttles, plastic bobbins, reed and heddle hook, lease sticks, war rods, and instructions. Additional options - insert eye of Texsolv heddles, bench, sectional warp beam, double warp beam, overhead beater, computer dobby, and flying shuttle beater. Leclerc Kebec II This is strong, 4 shaft counter balance loom, suited for wide fabrics, such as blankets. table cloths, draperies, coverlets, bed spreads, and rugs. It is designed to be operated by two weavers simultaneously, each working his/her own set of treadles and throwing or receiving the shuttle in turn. When outfitted with a flying shuttle beater, the loom can be operated solo. This loom has floating lams. This makes the treadling easier. The loom always comes with treadle sets fixed in front. Regardless of whichever treadle is used, the tension remains the same and the shed is perfect from end to end.
