Leclerc Warping Reel - vertical

The Leclerc Vertical Warping Reels (sometimes called a warping mills), efficiently accommodate warps of up to 20 yards, or 50 yards. An excellent option for production weavers or anyone planning to make long yardage or many of the same project on the same warp.

Warping mills/reels offer a fast and more ergonomic way to create longer warp chains. They are especially helpful for multi-colored and higher thread count pieces. A cross bar with warp pegs adjusts up or down to create the desired warp length. The vertical reel spins smoothly for fast winding while remaining even and stable. When not in use, the cross bars can be partially detached to fold the mill flat for storage.

The smaller model can sit on a table top, it does not require clamping, though you may choose to do so with standard C-clamps or quick-grips from the hardware store. It offers about 2 yards per rotation and can be used to construct warps up to 20 yards long. 38 inches tall with a 26.25" diameter.

There is not a brake, however an adjustable tension screw allows you to slow the the turn speed as you wind or remove the warp. The screw can also be used to 'lock' the mill completely when needed.

The larger floor model accommodates approximately 4 yards per rotation and can handle a warp length of up to 50 yards. The large is 68 inches tall and 59 inches wide. The horizontal piece with the warping pegs can be adjusted up or down depending on the desired warp length. When not in use, the cross sections and pegs can be partially or fully to fold the mill flat for more convenient storage.

The larger, floor-standing model is mounted to turn within a frame for additional stability. Be sure the mill is level and clear of any obstruction around it before beginning to wind.
