Woven with an uneven beat on the rigid heddle loom, the thick and thin weft creates a textured, wavy infinity cowl. Depending on the texture and the angle of the beat, each cowl will be completely unique!
Wear long and loose to show it off all day, or scrunch it up for extra warmth and a pop of color under winter coats. This luxurious cowl is as soft and cheerful as a cloud of cotton candy! The Both Sides Now cowl features a cool back and forth rocking motion as you beat – making it as fun to weave as it is to wear. No time or budget for a handspun art yarn? The thick and thin of the Bamboo Bloom provides even more texture and tips are given to emphasize the lofty roving-style tufts of color. The Soft Twist Silk gives extra shine and an elegant texture in your warp, as well as the warmth and softness of 100% silk. Plus, the fun fringe really sparkles!
Size: Finished infinity cowl measures approximately 10″ x 48″ with a 4″ twisted fringe accent where the fabric is joined.
Yarn: Warp: Gemstone Soft Twist Silk Yarn, 1 skein (approx. 220 yards), 100% silk, 14 wpi, 1,100 yds/lb.
Weft: Bamboo Bloom Handpaints Yarn, 1 skein (approx. 120 yards), 48% Rayon from Bamboo, 44% Wool, 8% Acrylic, 10 wpi, 704 yds/lb.

Equipment: Requires a rigid heddle loom with a weaving width of at least 10 inches and a 10 dent reed (width in reed is 10 inches). Shuttle, threading hook, warping peg or boards, tapestry needle, and (optional) fringe twister.
NOTE: The Both Sides Now Cowl was specifically designed to take advantage of the free movement of your heddle to create the angled beat. To weave this project on a standard floor loom you’ll need to use a separate beater, such as a pick up stick. Please also adjust your yardage to accommodate additional loom waste.
