Featured: Arroyo by Malabrigo + New knitting pattern!

Malabrigo Arroyo Yarn is a buttery soft superwash sport weight yarn. This yarn’s light gauge makes it ideal for spring and summer knitting – and it’s the perfect way to wrap up the Malabrigo March celebration. In my excitement for springtime and the warmer weather it is bringing, I used Malabrigo Arroyo Yarn to make the Flower in the Sun Tank Top, a tank top that’s as fun to knit as it is to wear. Get ready for summer with the Flower in the Sun Tank Top, a clever sleeveless top knit up in Malabrigo Arroyo Yarn. Worked from the top down beginning with one strap at a time, the top pieces are later joined and the remainder of the body is knit in the round. The only seaming happens at the shoulders, where you can either fix the straps in place or attach buttons for overall-style adjustable straps. Inspired by the one-size-fits-many dresses and caftans found in hippie shops, this tank is a flattering fit for any shape.

Size: S/M (M/L, L/XL); finished bust measures 36 (46, 56)”.
Gauge: 22 sts and 24 rows to 4″ in Stockinette stitch, using size US 7 knitting needle.
Yardage: 2 (3, 3) skeins of Malabrigo Arroyo Yarn (I used Lotus, our color 0120), or 660 (990, 990) yards sport weight yarn.

Choose two contrasting colors of Arroyo to make the adorable Swans Island Cat and Hat, which uses the yarn left over from knitting the hat to make a matching kitty toy, sweater and all.
Size: Hat circumference: 14.25″; Cat height: 8″.
Gauge: 7.25 stitches to 1″ on US size 1 knitting needle.
Yardage: Malabrigo Arroyo Yarn, one skein each of two contrasting colors.

Another fun way to bring out the colors of Arroyo is the [Sorry, item discontinued or temporarily out of stock] .  I recommend choosing one of the less colorful colorways so that the lovely lace pattern and uniquely textured border can shine.
Size: 15 (21.5, 31.75)” wide by 12.75 (20.75, 28.75)” long.
Gauge: 5.75 sts to 1″ using size US 6 knitting needles.
