This textile art technique has been used for millennia in the making of rugs, clothing, and homes (yurts). \u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003eThis workshop is appropriate for beginners as well as those who have felted before and would like to brush up or learn a new technique.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMaker Susie Cooke will demonstrate the process for creating a wet felted pouch with a flap closure, taking you step-by-step through the project and providing guidance along the way so you may enjoy the creative process and let your inner artist shine. We will have a wide selection of beautifully dyed merino wool to choose from along with embellishment materials to add texture and surface design to your pieces.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAt the end of this workshop students will have created a \u003cstrong\u003eone-of-a-kind felted pouch \u003c\/strong\u003eand will take with them the valuable knowledge of working with a resist. This technique is essential when making more complex items such as mittens, hats, pods, etc. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn addition to the merino wool we will be using, all of the supplies such as rolling mats, resists, hot water and soap for the felting process will be supplied for the class.
