She grew up in a family that supported artistic interests, and when she was young she loved to weave and sew. About thirty years ago, Lise found her true textile passion when she discovered the wonders of rug hooking—as a craft, an art form, and a community.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAfter retiring from a long career as an oncology nurse, Lise had the opportunity to learn how to teach rug hooking from the talented teacher and artist Deanne Fitzpatrick of Amherst, Nova Scotia (\u003ca rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Deanne Fitzpatrick Studio\" href=\"https:\/\/hookingrugs.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"\u003eDeanne Fitzpatrick Studio\u003c\/a\u003e).
