For fiber folks, it’s like a candy store filled with bins of irresistible unspun fibers just waiting to be touched, twisted, spun, and felted.
Whether you’re a seasoned spinner, an experimental felter, or just fiber-curious, our Wall-O-Fiber is packed with fuzzy and fluffy delights. We stock a broad and ever-evolving selection of natural and dyed fibers—some tried and true, others unusual and exciting. Here are a few of our favorite animal and plant-based fibers that have recently been restocked or added to our lineup.
🕊 Eri Peace Silk
Also known as “Ahimsa silk,” Eri Peace Silk is harvested without harming the silkworm, making it a more humane and eco-conscious choice for silk lovers. This spun fiber has a soft hand and a subtle sheen that reflects its natural elegance. It spins beautifully into a delicate yet surprisingly strong yarn. Ideal for lightweight garments or accessories, Eri silk is a joy to work with for those who crave luxury with a conscience. 🎨 Nube Hand-Dyed Merino by Malabrigo
If you love bold, saturated color and buttery softness, you’ll fall in love with Malabrigo's aptly named rovings. Nube. Nube means 'cloud' in Spanish, and you'll want to float away on these clouds of color. This 100% Merino top is hand-dyed in rich, painterly palettes that spin into gorgeous, tonal yarns. Each braid is a work of art—and no two are exactly alike. Whether you spin it fine or bulky, or use it for felting or blending, Nube brings the same vivid personality and silky texture you love in their knitting yarns to every spinning and felting project. Sold in 4 oz braids, hand-dyed in Uruguay.
🌾 Himalayan Giant Nettle Fiber
One of the more unusual entries on our fiber wall, Giant Nettle comes from the wild-growing Girardinia diversifolia plant in the Himalayas. It’s harvested and processed by hand in a centuries-old tradition. The resulting fiber has a flax-like texture and naturally bright silvery-white luster that takes dye beautifully. It's a sustainable, fair-trade, and biodegradable plant-based option, perfect for blending with a bit of wool to add sheen and body as you create one-of-a-kind handspun yarns.
🐑 Wool Nepps
Nepps are tiny, textured wool balls that add tweedy visual interest and texture to your spinning or felting. These little bits can be blended into a fiber batt or worked into wet or dry felted pieces for dimension and charm. We love using them in art yarns or experimental blends to add a touch of whimsy and dying them to add sprinkles of color.
🐑 Carded Lambswool
Light, fluffy, and minimally processed, our carded British lambswool offers a gentle crimp and makes an ideal stuffing, as well as a fun spinning or felting base. Ours comes washed and ready to work with, ideal for woolen spinning or for felters who want a smooth, uniform base. Use it as a core wool instead of poly fill for pillows or stuffed toys, make your own dryer balls, use it as a base for needle felted creatures, or spin it blended or on its own. Warm and natural, it's a staple you’ll always want to keep around.
🇳🇿 Ashford New Zealand Corriedale
A reliable classic, Ashford’s Corriedale sliver is a spinner’s and felters staple. It’s soft, springy, and easy to draft—perfect for beginners and pros alike. Sustainably grown and processed in New Zealand, this wool is available in a rainbow of solid colors, making it a favorite for felting, colorwork, or blending. It’s one of the most versatile fibers on the wall!
🌫 Natural Grey Romney
Romney wool is a favorite among handspinners for its strength, warmth, and versatility. So many spinners learn on and love this British breed for its medium-long staple and bouncy crimp; it is an ideal fiber for new spinners to learn with on its own or blended with other fibers. Our natural grey Romney top is minimally processed, it has a soft grey hue and medium-coarse feel, making it ideal for outerwear, weaving, or hard-wearing accessories. It’s easy to spin and takes dye beautifully, though we love it just as it is. A workhorse fiber with timeless appeal.
🐫 Baby Camel & Tussah Silk
This decadent blend combines the airy softness of baby camel down with the shimmering smoothness of Tussah silk. The result is a fiber that practically drafts itself and produces a yarn with stunning drape and warmth. Camel adds insulating loft, while silk brings strength and sheen. This one’s a dream for spinning lace or luxury wearables.
