A shimmering and lofty woven shawl. Created in a simple twill variation, the result is a smooth, drapey, and oh-so-soft shawl you’ll never want to take off!

The mixing of two twills gives the design so much dimension and the fabric becomes even softer after wet finishing. The twill details maintain beautiful definition even with the slight halo, and the lightweight warmth will make this your new favorite project.

The unique shine and texture of the twill pattern made us think of a hammered tin ceiling, and the name stuck.

Finished size: 11.25" x 63.75" plus a 5" fringe.

The project is suitable for advanced beginner to intermediate weavers. Requires a four shaft loom with weaving width of at least 12" and reed capable of 24 epi.

Revised, 2025 to use Katia Alpaca Lace & 8/2 Bamboo.

8/2 Tencel can also be used in place of Bamboo, but you may find it too delicate and experience breakage in the warp threads.
