Fiber content 100% Romney Wool
Blended Romney fiber creates a soft, bouncy sliver. Scoured to eliminate grease and dirt, then carded and gilled into a sliver (rope-like) roving form. This wool is recommended for learning the nuance of any handcraft application including spinning, felting, doll making, or needle felting. It will quickly become one of your favorites.
Nearly every spinner has spun Romney wool fiber at some time, and many of us have learned on it!
- Grey Romney fiber is carded and scoured but can contain straw/vegetable matter. Each batch varies, and some additional prep or cleaning may be needed. Staple length 3.5-5 inches (80-125mm). Fiber count 48, 32 micron.
- Our natural white Romney wool top is very clean and soft. With a count of 44-48, it tends to be slightly coarser and has wider crimp than Corriedale wool fiber. The staple lengths range from 5-7 inches.
