Join us to explore the history and artistry of Dorset Buttons and create your own traditional Cartwheel buttons!

This is a single day workshop, Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm.

Class size is limited, please sign up early to reserve your spot.

The historic Dorset Button originated in Dorset, England and flourished between the 1600s and 1850s. In this hands-on class, you'll learn to make the versatile Cartwheel style, including tips for selecting color combinations, choosing the ideal wool yarn, and exploring a variety of practical and decorative uses for your finished buttons.

Each student will create three 1-inch Dorset Buttons, choosing from a wide selection of yarn colors provided by the instructor. You'll also turn one of your finished buttons into a unique shawl or kilt pin to take home.

All materials needed to make three Dorset Buttons and one shawl/kilt pin are included.
